Music struck performance at VCH
It was the performance night at Victoria concert hall yet again, lost count how many times had we been there. After all, it was a marvelous performance put up by all of us.
It was our turn on stage, as we started off with 2 pieces of song, 'Danny Boy' and 'Diao Hua De Man An'. From the stage, we could see the auditorium was packed to the brim as many came to Lao shi's conduct. The reputation she had was way beyond what initially was expected, an icon to many in her church and a respectable conductor and teacher to the 8 choirs she's in charge of.
As the performance was nearing its end, the finale song was a combined piece with Cecilia's Choir entitled 'When You Believe'. Step up the stage once again as the emcee announced the performance. There we stood, with strong spotlights glaring down at us in the darkness, waiting for the intro of the music to be played…and we sang.
The prelude was soft and emotional, slowly we build up the feeling of the song to its peak and it was transformed in a matter of seconds to a very grand melody, increasing in its rhythm, everyone sang with gusto and energy in that in between medley. The song was sung beautifully, and everything ended off with a 'bang'. Almost in immediate, the audience got up from their seats with deafening applause as cheer erupted, overwhelming us with the sense of satisfactory and the appreciation. It was a job well done, with comments streaming in saying it rocks.
I was really glad that days and hours of practice had certainly paid off, a concert I'll never forget.
Anyway, photos to be uploaded later. What a breath-taking performance it has been.
