High School Musical 3; Senior Years
Went to watch the movie High School Musical 3; Senior Years after choir with Daphne and Edmund at plaza singapura. Having booked the tickets earlier on, didn't have much trouble with the transaction and everything. And so, here's a review of that show.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year gives you an honest jolt of feel-good fizz. It may be as friendly and square as one of those 1950s teen romps in which the actors wore letter sweaters, but that doesn't mean the movie is an uptight anachronism. It's shrewd enough to know that in an era ruled by drop-dead irony, gee-whiz sincerity can be its own rebellion — a wholesome rebuke to consumerist cool. The star jocks and theater bugs of East High School have already been through championship games and opening nights.
"Musical 3" is frustratingly shallow, but what it lacks in narrative ambition, it makes up for in dazzling choreography. They rise to the theatrical-release challenge by expanding the dance numbers while minimizing the drama. Instead, they rise to the theatrical-release challenge by expanding the dance numbers while minimizing the drama.
Though briefly deafened by the shrieks of pre-teen girls at the preview screening, I recovered my wits in time to appreciate “HSM3” for what it is: a sweet, innocent look at an impossibly idealized high school world.
Kids may smooch and sing about love, but what they really want to do is rock the house and wring the last bits of happiness out of their final year in the most untroubled high school on Earth, where jocks and theater geeks and snotty girls and gay boys and weirdo named “Rocket Man” can all find themselves once they climb onto a stage. This kind of uplift slides down easily in so charming a setting.
The story of HSM 3 is told from a musical point of view in a lighthearted, joyful way, consciously steering clear of any serious issues or complicated characters. As high school seniors, the filmmakers give the adolescents all the pressures and anxieties that "average" high school seniors face about prom, final exams, graduation, and going away.
No doubt, the movie could use better songs, more energetic choreography, subtler mise-en-scene, less ostentatious color palette, but it delivers the basic goods in an appealingly joyous package (and it is a package), which is infectious. A movie not to be missed.

School life thus far
Just couple of days back, I dug up some magazines from my cupboard and they are to be used for some props making in our upcoming recruitment thingy for dance. Stole that idea from yong yang as once I went to his house I saw this notice board, quite attractive and eye catching, did the same to my notice board as well, now using it for my CCA.
Monday, last lesson ends at 3, waited for khai loon as I know most likely she'll end at 4, and so we did meet up outside library. Initial plan was to book rooms so that we could probably work in the library, a more cooling environment cos weather kind of warm nowadays. The plan failed, none of the rooms were vacant, had to settle at some benches near my school. Immediately, as we found our working space, began to work on our big project. We had to wait till 6 before yuting was released from class before another helping hand was available. And I thought I could at least go catch our floor ball girls in action for their match at the sports hall, but that wasn't the case as we only completed it like about 9 plus. Siti and Khailoon both went off early, thankfully there was yuting and so had a company for dinner. what a start to a week...
Nothing much happened yesterday, school and cca as per normal. Celebrated a few people's birthday in choir, cant recalled some of their names; those I remembered were safarah and lao shi.
A brief info about lao shi, graduated from Milan's top music college, she's well-known for her unique way of conducting and her professional coaching of her students. With her patient guidance, the choir has grown from strength to strength. So this would be a special tribute to lao shi, as I wish you a very happy birthday.
Oh well, in a couple of hours time, parents would be flying off to Thailand on a mission trip and that means for once I'll be alone at home, yea of course there will be my sister but hey just like the movie 'home alone', the next couple of days I'm gonna live without them. If you were to ask me it is a good thing or bad thing, I would say both. On one hand, there’s more freedom and no curfew or whatsoever but certainly you will tend to miss them, but I guess I need to adapt to this kind of life if I have plans to go abroad for further studies.

Music struck performance at VCH
It was the performance night at Victoria concert hall yet again, lost count how many times had we been there. After all, it was a marvelous performance put up by all of us.
It was our turn on stage, as we started off with 2 pieces of song, 'Danny Boy' and 'Diao Hua De Man An'. From the stage, we could see the auditorium was packed to the brim as many came to Lao shi's conduct. The reputation she had was way beyond what initially was expected, an icon to many in her church and a respectable conductor and teacher to the 8 choirs she's in charge of.
As the performance was nearing its end, the finale song was a combined piece with Cecilia's Choir entitled 'When You Believe'. Step up the stage once again as the emcee announced the performance. There we stood, with strong spotlights glaring down at us in the darkness, waiting for the intro of the music to be played…and we sang.
The prelude was soft and emotional, slowly we build up the feeling of the song to its peak and it was transformed in a matter of seconds to a very grand melody, increasing in its rhythm, everyone sang with gusto and energy in that in between medley. The song was sung beautifully, and everything ended off with a 'bang'. Almost in immediate, the audience got up from their seats with deafening applause as cheer erupted, overwhelming us with the sense of satisfactory and the appreciation. It was a job well done, with comments streaming in saying it rocks.
I was really glad that days and hours of practice had certainly paid off, a concert I'll never forget.
Anyway, photos to be uploaded later. What a breath-taking performance it has been.

Back to school
First day back in school for my last academic semester after a long 3 months break... Exciting isn't it? After a much relaxing, fun and slack holiday, all the going out, dramas, etc are coming to an end soon. Though as much as I often complain how stress school were and wanted a break from it, there's tiny reason in you somewhere that looks forward to school days. Holiday or term break you call it are sometimes boring when it's too long, basically you’re thrown with the same routine every day.
However, the class has been reshuffled and would no longer be of the same class as some other friends, nevertheless those cliques will still meet up with each other outside school time. Look at it in another way, you'll find it as a great opportunity to meet new people, make more friends and to work in a new group.
Anyway, the few core modules in IT this semester we’ll be taking will be 'system security', 'web database development', 'develop office application' and 'supply chain management'. Besides having all this modules, I had an IS day which is compulsory every semester, I took 'world issues: Singapore perspective' where we deal things such as stereotypes, discrimination, prejudice, etc... and another module named 'investment in stock market', the title suggested we'll be involved heavily with stocks and shares in local markets as well as overseas market. Kind of interesting, this two modules, kind of spark off my interest with them, thus I'm definitely pay special attention to them.
Hmm… I guess it's gonna be one heck of a school semester ahead with performance flooding in for both choir and dance...
But honestly, I'm quite looking forward to it!

A Series of Exciting Events Part 2
So then I was heading to Yuhan's house for sleep over after the exhausting F1 race. It was a nightmare squeezing through crowds of people for an exit; to me, it was like a humungous maze. Supper some place at Bukit Panjang Plaza Macs, both of us got gigantic appetite as we stuffed ourselves with their meals. Thankfully, we were in time to fill our stomachs, if not we'll be stuffed for the entire night. We managed to stay up the whole night without feeling any signs of tiredness, gaming all night long. It's rather the most cliché form of activity most people do when friends sleepover at your place. Ohwell, for at least I had a few hours of sleep before heading down to Marina Square.
Met up with the rest of the guys( Ernest, Elton, Kai song, Sebestian ) again after months, and I supposed would probably be the last time we would ever be free to have such outing together already. We didn’t do much the whole afternoon, basically just hung around the shopping mall, lunch there, as well as LAN at some place near Plaza Singapura. I were supposed to meet up with parents after which for dinner at 'New York New York', to celebrate sister birthday. Dropped the idea of going and instead followed the boys to Makan Sutra for dinner, located beside DXO. In the end, went for a drink at Esplanade Harry's Bar before returning home.
Not much the following day, was called to accompany another of my friend to get presents from Kalm's at Wisma Atria. So there I was with him, beside him getting his stuff, we did a little retail spree of other things as well, clothes I planning to get for cousin wedding, Christmas as well as the upcoming Chinese new year. Make our way to Jurong east library after such a long day in town, went there to return his cds and in return borrowed more games. sigh, seems to be losing interest in games recently, nevertheless some people are just obsessed with them. The day ended there and I went home for dinner with my family.
Had a boring weekend this couple of days. Yesterday, I had my dance training cancelled, supposedly agreed to meet up for some physical training in the school's gym, everyone backed out at the very last minute. So I have to settle at home for the rest of the day.
Fortunately, for today, there was church. Caught up with some of them after service, but didn't join them for lunch and instead went with my parents. I was thinking of a free ride home, so ya, it was a correct decision made.
Went home to had a good rest, hasn't had enough of them this couple of days. Just woken up and straight away I'm here to update everyone this week's events.
Anyway, school's re-opening soon, has been real excited about it, and quite looking forward to it as well. Yeah, and I know less time to update my blog once it's so, therefore be patient with it, I'll update whenever I can guys. take care.
