NDP Preview 2008
This year's NDP Preview was fantastic! The atmosphere as compared to the previous NE Shows is certainly different. This time round, I'm being deployed to the orange sector dealing with the partial VIPs. Experience wise is extremely different as it's of handling the grown adults instead of those adorable kids.
The day started off with quite a humid weather and everyone are complaining about the unbearable heat. But the effort we put in was well-paid off as we managed to settle the crowd by 5.30pm where the celebration really starts. Did our most famous Singapore Wave and this make me feel united as one nation, one Singapore. This time round, the dinner provided was from Pizza hut! Hooray! (: Better as compared to the previous weeks' dinner.
The contingent march past was always the "must see" programme every year. You can see the effort each and everyone put in so as to present us with the grand march. Next up, the Red Lions performing their parachuting acts and the Black Knights, showcasing their amazing stunts in the air that lifted the audience off their seats. This time round, more fireworks and laser displays are being showcased. Wow, it's really beautiful and being able to see it live and in such close distance makes me feel like a small kid. The feeling is just indescribable. Standing among thousands of Singaporeans celebrating the very special moment for Singapore makes me feel like home. The common dream we all have is so heartwarming. This is what I call happiness (:
After the show ends, I was busy helping the people to take photographs! Being able to help those families or groups of friends to take pictures makes me feel great. After all, I'm helping them to snap the happy moments on such happy event. Isn't that great?
Can't wait for the actual parade itself with the spirit of Singaporeans getting even higher! There's even a Post Parade Party organized by St James' Power Station after the whole show over at the Marina! Yay, so exciting!
