Church Camp 08
It all started on Monday when I reported for the camp. It was the annual Church Camp organized by some volunteers from my church. My first thought or should I say, first impression of the camp was, it's going to be a boring one for me. Thus, I treated it lightly for it won't be too much of a difference compared to previous camps. The main reason that made us thought so was the programs and activities drawn out for us. It really surprises me when they gave us so much free time to ourselves, well it was fine but the weather killed it off.
On the first day, we gathered in church before setting off to the resort together. It was a long journey and the freezing air conditioner got us real sick. What was worse was the bumpy ride, which got everyone awake from their sleeping mode.
We reached the designated venue in no time, got our luggage loaded off the coach and proceeded to the hall for the opening ceremony and ice breaking session. Right after, we were allocated to our hotel rooms, woah, mine was one of the better ones I could say, a great view of the swimming pool which was just beside it, how cool was that...
Kang Le was cancelled due to bad weather and so we stayed in our own hotel rooms. The highlight of that day was the talk after dinner. Those who went should know, I shouldn't elaborate too much, but in all, the content and topic best relates us, teenagers, and definitely we learnt many new things and some which we could apply in our daily lives, and put in practice what was taught.
woo... that night I felt super emo. I guess some of you know the reason too, nevertheless I controlled my emotion well, and my homework got me over it.
Second day, was basically the same as the first. The only change was the afternoon Kang Le, where we had mass water games. Had a hell lot of fun, though my group lost. The kids were hard to control and especially for a team which has like 6 of them, I went "buang". I never thought that with such chaos we could complete the whole game, but with help from Uncle Wei Sheng and Ervine, we managed. Thank God for them.
I didn’t have much chance to participate in the night games with my group as I was put in charge of the PA. I only had one chance of doing so, it came where we had the bombing game, it was fun and our team won, thanks to yiqiang's strategy and of course the team's spirit.
Durians for supper...
Third day was the same as the previous two, nothing special... Ohwell, got to get down to my work already, not present in school for three days, lots of things to catch up, lots of work to be completed.
All in all, though one of my wish wasn't fulfilled, I felt this camp was a memorable one for me. =)
finally, a proper shot with elton. =)
